Catamarca
Catamarca has a mostly arid and warm climate, typical of the semi-arid region of northwestern Argentina. The province is characterized by: High summer temperatures, with highs that can exceed 40Ā°C in some areas. Cool, dry winters, with lows that drop below 5Ā°C in mountainous areas. Low rainfall, concentrated mainly in the summer months (December to March). Much of the territory is mountainous, which generates microclimates: for example, the Central Valley has a semi-arid or sub-humid climate, with somewhat more frequent rainfall.
